WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Amara could hardly believe how much her life had changed in just three years.
What started as a small kitchen business making homemade fruit juices had grown into something extraordinary. Orders poured in daily. Supermarkets wanted her products on their shelves. Event planners booked her months ahead. Before long, she had more money than she had ever imagined.
For the first time in her life, she could afford almost anything she wanted.
And she did.
She upgraded her phone every few months. She bought expensive clothes she rarely wore. Weekend getaways became monthly habits. She hosted lavish parties just because she could. Friends praised her lifestyle, and she convinced herself that the good times would never end.
Then things changed.
New competitors emerged. Consumer preferences shifted. Production costs increased. The business that once brought abundance slowed down considerably.
One afternoon, Amara sat in her office staring at her account balance. The uncomfortable truth hit her hard, she had enjoyed the harvest but had neglected the storage house.
She remembered the story of Joseph.
God had revealed to Pharaoh that seven years of abundance would be followed by seven years of famine. Joseph’s wisdom was not merely in interpreting the dream; it was in preparing for what was coming. During the years of plenty, they gathered and preserved enough to survive the difficult seasons ahead.
Amara realized that abundance was never meant to produce carelessness. It was meant to produce stewardship.
That evening, she knelt beside her bed and prayed, “Lord, teach me to manage every blessing You place in my hands.”
She began to rebuild wisely. She created savings plans. She invested carefully. She became intentional about generosity and disciplined in spending.
And she discovered an important truth:
The blessing of abundance is not just in receiving it, it’s in preserving it for God’s purpose.
Dear Reader,
God is a God of seasons.
There are seasons when He opens doors of unusual increase. In those moments, wisdom demands that we enjoy the blessings with gratitude while preparing responsibly for the future.
Not every season of abundance will last forever.
Joseph understood this principle. The Israelites experienced it when God commanded them to gather enough provision for seasons ahead.
Don’t consume everything prosperity places in your hands.
Save. Plan. Invest wisely. Give generously.
Because today’s abundance may be God’s provision for tomorrow’s uncertainty.
KEY SCRIPTURE:
Proverbs 21:20 – “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.”
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, grant me wisdom to manage every blessing You entrust into my hands.
2. Father, help me to exercise discipline during seasons of abundance and prepare wisely for the future.
3. Lord, if I have mismanaged previous opportunities, have mercy on me and open new doors of increase according to Your will.
