‘WHEN GIFTS ARE LEFT UNWRAPPED’
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Tosin had always admired her friend Ngozi. Every time they were together, Ngozi had this unique way of encouraging people. Whether someone was down, confused, or even celebrating, Ngozi’s words always brought light and direction.
But Tosin never thought much of it. To her, “talking” wasn’t a real gift. She wanted something “special” like singing, playing an instrument, or preaching on big stages. So, she kept despising that simple gift of encouragement God had given her.
One day, a colleague at work broke down in tears after receiving bad news about her family. Tosin wanted to comfort her, but she felt inadequate. All she said was, “Sorry, it is well,” and walked away.
That evening, when she got home, she scrolled through her phone and stumbled on a short voice note Ngozi had posted online. In it, Ngozi spoke words of comfort and faith. Reading the comments, Tosin saw how many lives were lifted by just that 2-minute message.
It hit Tosin hard, what she kept overlooking as “ordinary” was in fact the very tool God had given her to bless others. From that day, she began recording short encouragements, sharing them with friends and colleagues. Slowly, lives started changing around her.

Many times, we wait for big platforms before we use our gifts. But every gift matters, whether it feels small or loud. The Spirit of God gives each of us a unique “part” to play. Neglecting your gift is like leaving a present from God unopened.
Friend, stop hiding your gift. The world is waiting for your part.
👉 What ability has God quietly placed in you?
👉 Are you using it to edify others or are you ignoring it?
Remember: a gift unused is a destiny delayed.
