CHAPTER 24 “CORDELIA”

The pull grew stronger. My legs felt like they were no longer mine. Each step was ordered by something beyond me.

It dragged me past the sleeping quarters, past the vegetable garden at the back of the compound…straight toward an old abandoned-looking house.

From afar, it looked dirty and forgotten. Cobwebs framed the broken windows. The zinc roof rattled under the early morning breeze. The walls carried patches of mold and dirt, like a sick skin no one cared to heal.

Then came the smell.

A strange, choking stench oozed out of the place—rotten, damp, almost like death itself had made a bed there. My eyes watered as I tried to hold my breath. I glanced down and saw nose masks scattered all over the floor outside, as though others had once tried to shield themselves from this same stench.

It felt like a dumpsite. A place you should never willingly enter.

“Turn back, Cordelia,” my mind screamed.

But I couldn’t.

The force was stronger than my will. It pushed me forward, step by reluctant step. My spirit wrestled: *Why? Why here? Why me?*

At the door, I noticed a wooden stick barring the way, as though someone had tried to lock it from the outside. Without understanding why, my hands reached out and pulled the stick away.

The door creaked open.

And my jaw dropped.

The floor inside gleamed. Spotless. White tiles, shining so clean they looked almost new. It was the exact opposite of the filth outside. A complete contrast that made no sense.

Heart pounding, I stepped in.

Shock awaited me.

The place looked nothing like a dumpsite. It was an office. A corporate office. There was a small reception desk with a computer system placed neatly on it, but no receptionist in sight. Everything looked arranged, as though workers had just stepped out for a short break.

The force didn’t let me stop. It nudged me further in, down a long corridor lined with six closed doors.

I swallowed hard. My palm trembled as I reached for the handle of the first door. Slowly, I turned it. The hinges groaned like they were betraying me.

And then…

“JESUS!” I screamed.

I fell backward, hitting the corridor wall hard. My heart slammed against my chest as I fought for breath.

Hanging in that room, like a roasted animal on display, was the body of a woman. A human body. Her skin burnt beyond recognition, her arms dangling lifelessly. Her head hung low as though shame itself bowed it.

Tears blurred my eyes. My body quaked. I scrambled backward on my hands, unable to process what I was seeing.

What was this place?

Why had the force brought me here?

And..Dear God…who was she?

  1. It’s like this storyline has ended o.
    Auntie Ope, since when nah.
People are hungry for the rest of the prophetic story .
Someone life maybe depending on the story for survival.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Aunt Ope! I know this will end well for Mabel and all God’s children in captivity. Romans 8:28 emphasised that “ALL THINGS” and “not some things” work together for goid to those that love God and are the called according to His purpose. Even things that aren’t palatable will work for good. This is going to be one of such for this character, Mabel.

  3. Hmmmmm, I was scared while reading this episode…
Six doors…. Maybe there were 6 Eva’s before her and Soji needed the 7th Eva in particular for completion which I believe God will use to turn things around for good in two ways, to liberate innocent souls trapped and stop Soji from further evil. Alas a lot has definitely went in for this.

Me o, I’m not even sure of the exact number of Eves again.
Could it be that he used and dump them when he’s tired of them, only to pick another one with more virtues from fresh intakes?
God, please deliver Mabel, Cordelia, and others in the kingdom of darkness.
