Tunde scrolled through his social media feed and sighed.
Post after post, thread after thread, all he saw were Christians arguing — “Should women wear trousers?” … “Which pastor drives the most expensive car?” … “Is tithing still valid?”

He shook his head and thought, Really? Is this where our energy should go?

The enemy loves to set traps, and one of his favorites is distraction. The devil doesn’t always attack by force; sometimes, he simply diverts attention. When believers spend their time debating over non-essentials, we lose focus on what truly matters.

While we are busy arguing, teenagers are drowning in pornography, drugs, and peer pressure. While we are reposting endless debates, marriages are collapsing under the weight of abuse and selfishness. While we are throwing shade at each other online, millions have not even heard the name of Jesus.

Jesus Himself faced the devil’s bait: “If you are truly the Son of God, turn these stones into bread…” (Matthew 4:3). But He refused to engage in meaningless debate. He chose focus over distraction, purpose over argument.

Not every argument is worth your time. Some “debates” are actually “baits” — set up by the enemy to waste your energy, divide believers, and silence the message of salvation. The Church’s mission is not to win arguments but to win souls.

Instead of amplifying controversies, let’s amplify Christ. Let’s speak more about love, forgiveness, holiness, salvation, and the coming of Christ.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
2 Timothy 2:23 – “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, give me the wisdom to avoid distractions and focus on Your kingdom’s priorities.

Father, help me use my words, my influence, and my platforms to point people to Christ and not to confusion.

Lord, silence every bait of the enemy designed to shift my focus from what truly matters.
