‘WHEN LOVE WOULDN’T LET GO’

Tosin had made another mistake.
It was the third time this year he promised his wife he’d stop gambling, but here he was again, broke, ashamed, and empty.

He expected her to explode, to finally pack her bags and leave.
But instead, she quietly placed a meal before him, looked him in the eyes, and said:

“I hate what this habit is doing to you, but I don’t hate you. I still love you, and I believe God can change you.”

Her words broke him. For the first time, Tosin saw a glimpse of God’s kind of love, the love that hates the sin but refuses to abandon the sinner.

It reminded him of Israel, who constantly failed God, yet God’s voice echoed through Jeremiah:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

Tosin’s wife didn’t excuse his sin, but she refused to let her love go on break. And that love became the fuel for his turnaround.

Friend, have you ever felt like Tosin?
Ashamed, unworthy, certain that God must be tired of you?

The truth is: His love never clocks out.
He may be grieved by our sin, but He does not walk away from us. His mercy keeps calling us back home.

Esau despised God’s gift and lost it. The people of Nineveh, though wicked, repented, and mercy embraced them.

The difference is not in God’s love, but in our response.

Don’t run away from Him. Run back into His arms.

1. Lord, thank You for loving me beyond my weaknesses.

2. Father, help me never to take Your grace for granted.

3. Give me strength to turn from sin and walk in Your love daily.
