‘WHEN CLAY RESISTS THE POTTER’

When a potter wants to mold a clay, he wets it, presses it, and carefully places it on the wheel. With steady hands, he shapes it into a vessel of purpose and beauty. But sometimes, as the wheel turns, the clay resists. It wobbles, collapses, or loses form.

The potter doesn’t throw the clay away. Instead, he gathers it again, reshapes it, and molds it into something else, still useful, but often smaller or less significant than the masterpiece he originally intended.

This is how many destinies unfold. God, the Master Potter, starts us out with glorious intentions, but when we resist Him, through stubbornness, sin, or misplaced priorities, the original design becomes compromised.

Some end up in “lesser versions” of what they were destined to be. A man meant to be a pioneering medical researcher may settle as a roadside chemist. A woman designed to lead a global food company may end up selling snacks on a street corner. Not because God changed His mind, but because the clay resisted His molding.

Yet, there is hope. The Potter’s mercy is greater than our mistakes. The same hands that remolded the clay in Jeremiah’s vision can still restore lost years if the vessel humbles itself and yields.

Are you living the fullness of God’s original design for your life, or just a shadow of it? The Potter is willing to restore, if only you return and surrender.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, I yield myself afresh into Your hands. Where I have resisted and reduced Your plans for me, forgive me. Mold me again into the vessel You intended, and restore my wasted years. Amen.
