THE SOURCE THAT NEVER EXPLOITS

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Kunle was tired of trekking. Every day he passed shiny cars and whispered to himself, “It’s time.”

He had some savings, but not enough. So he considered asking his wealthy acquaintance, Mr. Bayo, for a loan.

“Be careful,” a friend warned him. “That man doesn’t give without strings attached.”

Kunle laughed. “At least I can see him. God won’t transfer money to my account physically.”

Ignoring the caution, he approached Mr. Bayo. The man smiled warmly and agreed to lend him the money. “Take your time,” he said casually. “We’re friends.”

But two months later, the tone changed.
Calls became threats.
Reminders became humiliation.
Kindness became control.

Soon, Kunle found himself pressured into questionable decisions just to repay the debt faster. Peace left him. Sleep disappeared. The “help” that once looked like a miracle became a burden around his neck.

By the time he cleared the debt, he had paid far more than money, he had paid with his dignity and peace.

That experience taught him something powerful:
Not every open door is from God.
Not every quick solution is a blessing.

Some “helpers” give with their hands but hold back their hearts. And when they come for repayment, they demand more than what they gave.

But God?

God does not exploit.
He does not manipulate.
He does not trap you with hidden clauses.

He is generous without wickedness.
He blesses without adding sorrow.

When you look to Him as your Source, He may not always answer instantly but when He provides, it comes with peace.

Be careful where you run in times of need.
Human help without God can become a snare.
But divine provision never enslaves.

Trust the One whose blessings do not choke you.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Jeremiah 17:7 –
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.”
