THE “P” THAT RAISES

Tola sat quietly on her bed, scrolling through old pictures of her late mother, her once close friends, and memories of a time when laughter filled her life.

But now, the silence was heavy. The last few months had been filled with disappointments and heartbreak. She had prayed, fasted, cried… yet nothing seemed to change.

One afternoon, while reading her Bible, her eyes fell on Acts 16. Paul and Silas were in prison beaten, bleeding, locked up yet they were singing.

Tola frowned. “How can anyone sing in pain?” she thought.

But the more she read, the more something stirred within her.
She realized that the walls of her heart had become her own prison built from self-pity and sorrow.

So that evening, instead of crying again, she did something different.
She whispered, “Lord, I thank You.”
Then louder, “I thank You for my life… for strength… for hope.”

As her voice rose in thanksgiving, tears flowed but this time, not from pain. She felt peace returning. The heaviness lifted.

And in her spirit, she heard a gentle whisper:
“When you choose praise over pain, you break the chains.”

That night, Tola slept deeply for the first time in weeks.
The problem hadn’t vanished but her heart had risen above it.

When life locks you in emotional or spiritual chains, praise becomes the key that sets you free. You may not feel like singing, but your song in the dark confuses the enemy and invites God’s power.

THE “P” THAT BRINGS ABOUT A RAISE IS THE POWER OF P(RAISE).

Praise doesn’t just change your situation it changes you.
