Tola had always dreamed of greatness. As a teenager, her teachers often said she was destined for leadership. But as she grew older, her choices pulled her away from that path. She skipped classes, preferred parties, and laughed off every warning.

Years later, instead of running the international company she once envisioned, she found herself selling snacks by the roadside. One evening, as she packed up her tray, she sighed deeply, “Lord, is this really what You had in mind for me?”

That night, she stumbled upon a scripture:

“But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.” (Jeremiah 18:4)

Tears flowed as she realized—God had wanted more for her, but her stubbornness had reshaped her story. Still, His mercy had not left her wasted. He had kept her life useful, though far from His original intention.

The next morning, Tola prayed differently: “Lord, don’t just remake me into ‘something else.’ Restore me into who You designed me to be from the very beginning.”

And for the first time in years, hope flickered. She knew the Potter could still restore broken clay into a vessel of honor.

God’s first plan for your life is always the best. But when we stray, He sometimes reshapes us into “something else” so we’re not wasted. Yet, if we humble ourselves and return, He is powerful enough to restore us to His original design.

1. Lord, don’t let me settle for less than Your best for my life.
2. Father, restore every wasted year and opportunity in my journey.
3. Lord, make me pliable in Your hands, so I may fulfill Your original purpose.
