‘THE DAY I SAW THE WELL’
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Kunle was tired of hearing the word recession.
It had been his excuse for three years, why his business was crawling, why his rent was late, and why he always had to “manage” life.
One day, while scrolling aimlessly on his phone, he came across a short video of a Christian businessman who said,
“The difference between abundance and lack is not location, it’s vision. Pray for your eyes to be opened.”
Kunle almost scrolled past, but something made him pause.
That night, he prayed a simple prayer before bed:
“Lord, open my eyes to the opportunities around me. Show me the well You have placed in my desert.”
Two days later, while dropping his kids at school, he overheard two parents complaining about how the school canteen food was overpriced and poor quality.
A thought came: “What if you offered healthy, affordable lunch packs?”
By the next term, Kunle was supplying 15 schools in his area.
In less than a year, he was debt-free and thriving.

Like Hagar in the wilderness, many of us are crying over the dryness in our lives, blind to the well God has already placed nearby (Genesis 21:19).
The opportunity may not look like gold at first glance. It might come as a conversation, a complaint you overhear, a problem in your community, or even an inconvenience you experience.
But you won’t see it until God opens your eyes.
Recession doesn’t stop divine provision, closed eyes do.
While some cry “there is nothing here,” others are buying new houses, starting new businesses, and breaking new ground because they’ve seen their well.
