“STRUCK BY PRESSURE OR ANCHORED IN PRAYER?”

Have you ever been that person others look up to expecting joy, abundance, and a flood of testimonies only to be met with the unexpected… dryness?
They look at your life and wonder:
“Where is your God?”
“Why is nothing flowing in your life?”
A spring, by nature, should never run dry. It’s expected to overflow with water—life, refreshing, sustenance. So when a spring runs dry, it confuses observers and burdens the bearer.
Dry springs come in many forms:
- Married… but barren
- Educated… but jobless
- Wealthy… but sickly
- Well-connected… but still wretched
- Beautiful… but unmarried
These are the Meribah moments in life. Like the Israelites at Meribah, people expect to find water, hope, solutions but they find none, and suddenly, you’re not just disappointed, you’re under pressure.
When Moses faced the cries of the Israelites at Meribah (Numbers 20), he allowed their frustration to get to him. Instead of speaking to the rock as God instructed, he struck it twice. It was disobedience birthed from pressure.
That one moment of misplaced anger cost him the promised land.
This is what many of us do today:
- Instead of turning to God in prayer, we turn to the devil for help.
- Instead of trusting, we insult God out of pain: “Can’t God see what I’m going through?”
- We strike the rock, when God simply wants us to speak to it.
When your life seems like a dry spring, don’t let frustration lead you to sin or compromise. Don’t let mockers push you into rebellion against God.
Speak to the Rock. Let your words be prayers. Let your tears be poured at God’s feet.
Only God can make your dry springs flow again.
He did it before. He’ll do it again.

“LORD, cause my dry springs to burst forth with abundance!
Let every dryness in my life—be it babies, health, contracts, favor, or finances be replaced with an overflow, in Jesus’ name.”
REFLECTION:
Are you at Meribah right now?
Don’t strike. Speak.
