‘SINGLED OUT BY FAVOR’

At the university convocation ceremony, everyone was clapping as the best graduating student stepped forward.

Her name was Tolu, not the smartest in her class, not the most outspoken, and definitely not the lecturer’s favorite. In fact, she had classmates who seemed far more brilliant and confident.

But what set Tolu apart was something invisible, the favor of God.
Opportunities came her way. Professors remembered her name when it mattered. She found the right mentors and helpers at the right time.

Her classmates couldn’t understand it. Some said, “But she wasn’t even the sharpest!”

Yet, she stood there, crowned with honor.

That day, Tolu realized something life-changing: You don’t need to be the best according to men’s standards, you just need to be the one favored by God.

There will always be others who can do what you do, others who are smarter, richer, or more connected. But when God places His favor on you, you will be singled out.

• Esther wasn’t the only virgin in the land, yet she was chosen to be queen. (Esther 2:17)

• Mary wasn’t the only virgin in Nazareth, yet she was chosen to carry the Savior. (Luke 1:28)

• David wasn’t the tallest or strongest of Jesse’s sons, yet he was anointed king. (1 Samuel 16:11–13)

Favor is the divine differentiator. It lifts you DESPITE OTHERS.

So, don’t waste your energy competing, comparing, or complaining. Instead, pray for God’s hand of favor to rest upon you, because favor will put you where effort cannot.

1. Lord, surround my life with Your shield of favor.

2. Father, single me out for opportunities, breakthroughs, and blessings despite the competition around me.

3. Lord, let Your favor distinguish my family, business, and ministry in Jesus’ name.
