‘SEEING BEYOND THE NEGATIVE’

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

At a busy Lagos bus stop, Tunde overheard a man at a newspaper stand shouting:
“This country is hopeless! The leaders are failures, and nothing good will ever happen here.”

His voice was filled with bitterness, and people around him nodded in agreement.

But beside Tunde stood Amaka, a young believer. She couldn’t keep quiet.
“Sir, with all due respect, is that truly all you see?” she asked.

The man sneered. “What else is there to see? Isn’t everything falling apart before our eyes?”

Amaka didn’t argue, she began to declare what she saw:
“I see young people rising with wisdom and creativity.
I see families flourishing despite the economy.
I see God raising leaders who fear Him.
I see businesses growing, barren wombs opening, and destinies restored.”

In minutes, the atmosphere shifted. Others at the stand joined in, boldly declaring the good they saw. That bus stop became a place of hope, because one person chose to see differently.

What do you see?

When the ten spies looked at Canaan, they saw giants and impossibility. But Caleb and Joshua saw victory, fruitfulness, and God’s promise in action. (Numbers 13:30)

Vision determines possession. If all you see is failure, bitterness, and hopelessness, that’s all you’ll walk into. But if you choose to see possibilities, God will make sure you partake of them.

Friend, don’t join the chorus of complainers. Be the voice of faith in a hopeless generation. See what God is doing, declare it, and watch Him bring it to pass.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’’ – Numbers 13:30

*****

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, open my eyes to see possibilities where others see impossibility.

2. Father, help me not to agree with the voice of doubt and fear in my generation.

3. I declare: I see success, fruitfulness, peace, and divine order in my life, family, and nation.
