A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Bisi and Tunde were the kind of couple others admired. Faithful in church, generous to people, prayerful in their home.

But suddenly, their world turned upside down. Business deals failed back-to-back. Their car broke down beyond repair. Rent became a nightmare. Even their children’s health started failing.

One night, their youngest son, Daniel, whispered innocently before bed:

“Daddy, have you asked God why?”

That question struck Tunde’s heart. He realized he had been busy crying, worrying, and calling pastors, yet he had not paused to ask God what was happening.

That night, they knelt together and prayed:
“Lord, what is wrong? What are we missing?”

Within days, clarity came. They had neglected a specific instruction God had given months ago. Once they retraced their steps, the heavens opened again, and peace returned.

There are times when life doesn’t add up, when your prayers feel unanswered and your efforts collapse.

Instead of running from one “solution” to another, stop and inquire of the Lord.

David faced a three-year famine in Israel. Instead of blaming the economy, his enemies, or even himself, he asked God. And the Lord revealed the root cause. (2 Samuel 21:1)

Sometimes, heaven is simply waiting for your question.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, open my eyes to see the hidden root of every challenge in my life.

2. Father, give me the wisdom to ask the right questions in the place of prayer.

3. Lord, show me the way out, and give me grace to obey You fully.
