‘RUN TO THE FATHER’

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Last week, I watched my daughter run up to me in tears.

Someone at school had bullied her. She didn’t hide in fear. She didn’t try to fight back. She didn’t pretend to be strong.
She came straight home, straight to me, with tears, not tantrums.

And when she did, I held her close, wiped her tears, and said,
“You did the right thing. You ran to the one who can fix it.”

That was the moment God whispered to me:
“That’s how I want My children to respond, not with fear, but with faith-filled cries.”

We often try to hold it together when life gets heavy.
We internalize pain. We spiral into fear.
But sons and daughters don’t need to fear when they have a Father who listens.

When things go wrong, where do you run?

Fear is not your portion. It’s not your inheritance. You were not called to survive life in silence, but to cry out boldly to your Father.

The Bible says:

📖 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things…”
— Jeremiah 33:3

Crying is not weakness when it’s directed at the One who can respond.

Remember blind Bartimaeus? He cried out in desperation—“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”—and his life changed forever. (Mark 10:46–52)

He could have stayed silent, let fear shut him down, but he chose to cry.

So, why fear when you can cry?
Why suffer in silence when your Abba Father is waiting for your voice?

KEY SCRIPTURE:
📖 Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)

PRAYER:

Dear Father,
When I’m overwhelmed, help me not to shrink back in fear, but to cry out to You.
You are not just a King, You are my Father.
Teach me to run to You first not last.
I receive grace today to trust You boldly and cry out without shame.
Amen.

✨ Don’t wear your fear like a badge. Wear your sonship boldly, He hears you!

    2. Sometimes I just try so hard to hold it in and sometimes end up crying and praying. I used to feel guilt for crying making it seem like I don’t have faith enough. But this has given me strength to come to my Father with Faith filled tears without feeling guilty of crying to my Father.
