PLANTED TO PROSPER

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Chioma sighed as she scrolled through her phone. Everyone seemed to be traveling abroad, starting afresh in “greener pastures.” She looked around her small tailoring shop and thought, “Maybe I should leave too. Nothing great can happen here.”

That night, as she prayed, a gentle nudge came to her heart: “Stay where I have planted you.”

It didn’t make sense, but Chioma obeyed. She improved her sewing skills, treated customers well, and prayed over her business. Months later, a fashion influencer visited her shop by “chance,” loved her designs, and showcased them online. Overnight, Chioma’s little shop became the talk of the town.

It wasn’t the location that mattered. It was the presence of God with her.

Sometimes, life makes “other places” look better, shinier, or more promising. But true prosperity is not about where you are—it’s about WHO is with you. Isaac experienced this in Gerar. Though famine ravaged the land, God told him to remain there, and he became exceedingly prosperous (Genesis 26:1–6, 12). Even when pushed to the valley, God’s blessing followed him.

Beloved, don’t abandon your God-ordained place, marriage, career, or assignment just because it looks tough. If God planted you there, He will sustain and prosper you there.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 1:3 – “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

PRAYER:

Lord, help me not to abandon my God-given place because of pressure or impatience.

Father, let Your presence remain with me wherever You have planted me.

Lord, prosper me in my current assignment so that others will see Your hand upon me.

  1. Father, let Your presence remain with me wherever You have planted me.
Lord, prosper me in my current assignment so that others will see Your hand upon me, Lord in Jesus’ name. Amen

  2. God doesn’t forsake when you trust and obey .

There is a song that says:
Trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey .

Chioma laughs best because she trust in the Lord with all her heart and lean not to her own understanding, after trusting she Obeyed.

Father , give me the spirit to trust and obey.

As a believer we need it
