The reason you feel crushed when people hurt you
is not because you are weak
it is because you expected too much.

The reason betrayal feels unbearable
is not because you are foolish
it is because you believed people would never fail you.

The reason disappointment shakes your faith
is not because you lack faith
it is because you placed it in the wrong place.

You ask, “What is it that I don’t understand?”

This is what you don’t understand:
No one is truly good except God.

Humanity was born with a fallen nature.
Even our best intentions are mixed with weakness.
Even our purest love carries limits.

It is only by God’s Spirit that any good is seen in us and even then, the flesh still struggles against the Spirit.

Jesus Himself once corrected a man who called Him “Good Teacher.”
He said, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.”

He was not denying His divinity
He was revealing a truth:
Goodness in its purest form belongs to God alone.

Even Jesus, in human form, wrestled with pain and fear in Gethsemane.
He prayed, “If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me… yet not My will, but Yours be done.”
That moment reveals the reality of humanity
even divine assignment feels heavy in human flesh.

So don’t place unrealistic expectations on people.
They may mean well,
but they are still human.
They may love you,
but they are still flawed.

Leave room for mistakes.
Leave room for disappointment.
Leave room for grace.

But place your full confidence in God, because He is the only One
who is good without limits,
faithful without weakness,
and loving without conditions.

People will fail.
God will not.

Trust people wisely.
Trust God fully.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Luke 18:19 – “No one is good—except God alone.”

PRAYER POINT:

Lord, I acknowledge that You are the only truly good One. Please be good to me. Let Your goodness be seen through my life, in Jesus’ name.
