ON THE ROAD TO ELIM — YOUR BITTERNESS ISN’T THE END

Tunde stood outside the small shop he had just locked up for the third time in two years.
“Lord,” he sighed, “I thought you said You’d bless the work of my hands?”

It felt like he had just escaped one hardship only to enter another. First, the freedom from joblessness, then came the long walk through business struggles and now, the bitter taste of failure.

That night, he opened his Bible and stumbled on a verse he had read many times but never understood.

“When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter… Then Moses cried out to the Lord… and the water became sweet. They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees.”
— Exodus 15:23–27 (NIV)

It suddenly clicked — before Israel reached Elim (abundance), they had to pass through Marah (bitterness). Freedom from Egypt didn’t mean the journey would be easy.

Tunde realized: Marah wasn’t punishment; it was preparation.
If he gave up at the bitter stage, he would never taste Elim’s sweetness.

So, he prayed again not for escape, but for endurance. Months later, doors began to open. New clients, new ideas, and unexpected helpers appeared. Looking back, he smiled, “That bitter season built the strength I needed for this blessing.”

Friend, your Marah moment isn’t the end, it’s a sign that Elim is near.
Before your testimony, there’s often a test. Before your abundance, there’s often bitterness.

Don’t curse the process; God is leading you through it.
He hasn’t abandoned you. He’s preparing your Elim, your season of rest, fruitfulness, and satisfaction.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Exodus 15:27 (NKJV) — “Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there by the waters.”
