‘DON’T LET HIM WIN’

Samuel had a bright future, everyone who knew him said so. But little by little, he started slipping into habits that seemed harmless at first.

First, it was “just small betting,” then it grew into gambling debts.
Then came the late-night drinks that turned into daily drunkenness.
Soon, Samuel could barely recognize himself.

One evening, as he sat in his room drowning in shame, he remembered Joseph’s story. Joseph’s brothers said: “Let’s kill him and see what becomes of his dreams” (Genesis 37:20).

Samuel realized: the devil was using these habits to kill his destiny. The same way Eve lost Eden through disobedience, the enemy was pushing him to trade glory for struggle.

That night, Samuel cried out:
“Lord, I won’t give the devil joy over my life anymore. I choose obedience, I choose destiny!”

From that point, change began. It wasn’t instant, but step by step, Samuel broke free.

As Christians, sin is not just about “hurting God,” it’s also about hurting your own life and destiny. Every negative habit you tolerate is the devil’s way of saying, “Let’s see what becomes of his dream.”

Friend, don’t hand over your future to sin. Your destiny is too precious to be exchanged for a moment of pleasure.

Remember: Every time you say NO to sin, you say YES to destiny.

1. Lord, give me discernment to identify habits designed to destroy my destiny.

2. Father, grant me grace to overcome sinful patterns and live in obedience.

3. Lord, let my destiny be preserved; may I not fall into struggles created by sin.
