CHAPTER 21 – BATTLE OF THE BRETHREN

Boardroom Fire

Exactly one week after she came out of that spiritual shutdown,
T.J. walked back into the church.

No announcement.
No fanfare.
She just slipped into the back pew like someone checking if the storm had passed.

People stared.
Some greeted.
Some pretended not to see her.

But me?
I was just watching. Because when God restores a wounded soldier,
the battlefield starts looking for new targets.

The next day, an internal memo was sent:

“Special strategy meeting for Revival Week 2025.
All key heads, new prophetic voices, and assigned altar coordinators are to attend.”
Guess whose name was on it?

Tijesuni Adeyemi.
Clear. Bold. Unmistakable.

Someone in admin definitely had boldness.
Or maybe… Daddy G.O. himself added her name. Daddy G.O seem to have checked her out by her himself Spiritually.

Either way, I knew something was about to burst.

Friday. 2 p.m.
Executive boardroom.

Same place we held the “Family Meeting.”
Same air. Same tension.

Present:

Daddy G.O.

Mummy G.O.

Pastor Dan

Edna

Two elders

Four altar team leaders

Bro Solomon!( Daddy G.O seem to have brought him into his corner, since his truthful appraisal)

Me (note-taker and unofficial discernment antenna)

And… T.J.
She sat near the end of the table.
Notebook in hand.
No make-up. No lipstick. Just calm.

Meeting began.

Discussions flowed.

Strategy. Banners. Prayer rota.
Nothing heavy.

Until… Mummy G.O. turned slightly. Looked at T.J.

“Sister Tijesuni… we’ve heard a lot. You’ve seen visions. You’ve had visitations. And recently, we heard you spoke certain names during your ‘recovery.’”

The room tightened.

T.J. looked up. Calm.

“I don’t recall naming anyone directly, ma.”

Mama nodded slowly. But her eyes?

“Still, if God is showing you this much, one would expect loyalty to leadership to be stronger. Why is it that your revelations never come in the presence of order? If God wants to speak to the Church, don’t you think He should speak to the G.O., myself, or some of the elders?”

Boom.

Accusation, delicately wrapped in protocol.

Pastor Dan folded his arms.
Edna gave a small “hmmn.”
Bro Solomon blinked rapidly.

Me?
I stopped writing.

Then…

T.J. said gently:

“Mama…God respects order… but sometimes, He breaks it. If His voice is no longer heard from the highest mountain, He can descend to the valley and speak from there…because He is the God of the mountains and the God of the valley. Sometimes, He may choose to speak through a donkey when the rider refuses to listen.
Order that resists obedience to God is not spiritual… it’s political.

God can break order and speak to a Samuel, even when there’s still an Eli in the building. A candle cannot see its own base. Sometimes, those at the top may not see what’s beneath their feet. But someone below can… and might be the one to call attention to what urgently needs to be seen.

What’s worse is that when God tries to help by disrupting the order, the same leaders who once prayed for His move begin to block the flow.”

T.J. had just preached an entire sermon that froze the room. In the almost four months she had been in our church, this was the longest I’d ever heard her speak.
Silence followed.

Then Mama snapped:

“Are you implying I’m blocking God?!”

T.J. didn’t flinch.

“I’m saying… when Eli refused to confront what God exposed…judgment came upon the whole house.”

Omo. This girl is deep. She Knows her Scripture. I saw the look of admiration on Daddy G.O’s face, Bro Solomon’s face and a few others.

Room. Dead. Silent.

Then, Elder Joshua …one of the oldest in the church …cleared his throat and gave a dry laughter.

“With all due respect…this girl sounds exactly like you did 22 years ago, Mama. When you were the fiery one calling out tradition. Don’t you remember?”

Chairs shifted.
He continued.

“There was a time they tried to silence you too…They Said you were too bold. They Said your visions were ‘unsettling’…But Daddy stood by you…Now another one has come… and we are the ones resisting?”

Mama froze.

I could see the tears starting in her eyes.
She blinked. Hard.

Then whispered:
“But I suffered to build this…I fought Jezebels, manipulators, fake revivals.
How do I know she’s not another one?”

Elder Joshua said softly:
“You don’t…But if you keep fighting what you’re afraid of, you might end up silencing what you prayed for. ”

Elder Akin sat there without saying a word! I thought he would add to the conversation and validate T.J after-all He knew who she was..

Then…

Daddy G.O. stood.

Didn’t say a word.
Just walked out of the room.

Meeting: over.
Mummy G.O followed not wanting to break down in front of everyone.
I quickly followed her, or why am I being paid?

Wahala be like what?

Wahala be like when the same woman who was once rejected by tradition… now becomes the GATE blocking revival.
(Trouble is when deliverers forget how it felt to be the one misunderstood.)

  1. This is getting more interesting and deeper. Now I’m imagining it as a movie where mama Opeyemi Akintunde acts as T. J (so calm and collected).

God bless your flow of wisdom mama, more grace to you 🥰

  2. This is the best episode i have ever read! Thank you T.J for your undaunted Spirit-filled rhema. Mummy G.O, please go back to where you started from.

  3. This is why every leader must undergoes spiritual death, Mama’s flesh was still agitating because she taught:
    1) If God want to answer her prayer, He’ll use someone she expect
    2) T.J was not trained by her
    3) She expected God to use her in performing wonders instead of T.J, thereby neglecting Psalms 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

  4. This is why every leader must undergoes spiritual death, Mama’s flesh was still agitating because she taught:

  5. How are you sure she’s not one of them shows there has indeed been a big gulf between who Mama was and who she is because if she’s still spiritually sound, she’ll know TJ is God’s, but then her name has been mentioned that for the platform, she has traded her light, God have mercy on us, may we not chase the shadows when we’re meant to be chasing after you Jesus

  6. This is very revealing, and Deep.
TJ is in a real physical and spiritual battlefield.
The grace of God on her is so real, for she keeps coming back, despite all odds.
    Help me, Oh Lord!
Help The Body of Christ, Oh Lord!

    God bless you ma
