A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo were faithful believers. They loved God sincerely, served diligently, and had seen His hand move powerfully in their lives. Their home was peaceful, their plans were fruitful, and their future seemed bright.

Then suddenly, everything changed.
Progress halted.
Opportunities dried up.
Joy turned into confusion.

Within a short time, it felt as though life had pushed them into a dark tunnel, and they could not understand why. Friends were confused too. “They are good people,” everyone said. “What could have gone wrong?”

But their seven-year-old son, Tobi, noticed the heaviness at home and gently asked,
“Daddy… have you asked Him?”

“Asked who?” Mr. Adebayo replied.

“God,” Tobi said simply. “When things went wrong in the Bible, David asked God what happened.”

That innocent statement pierced their hearts. They realized they had been crying, worrying, and searching everywhere except asking God directly.

That night, instead of complaining, they prayed,
“Lord, show us what is behind what we are going through, and lead us out.”

As they waited in God’s presence, clarity came. The Spirit gently reminded them of something they had neglected a commitment they once held dear but had slowly abandoned.

They didn’t argue.
They didn’t justify.
They corrected it.

And as they retraced their steps in obedience, peace returned.
Soon, favor followed.
Doors opened.
Restoration began.

Not every problem is solved by running around.
Some are solved by kneeling down and asking God questions.

Before you panic, ask.
Before you complain, ask.
Before you blame, ask.

God always responds to sincere inquiry.
When you ask, He reveals.
When He reveals, you recover.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, teach me to inquire of You before reacting to life’s challenges.

Father, reveal the hidden causes behind my struggles and show me the way forward.

Lord, give me the grace to obey quickly when You speak.
