THE POWER OF A WILLING HAND

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Amara was always in a hurry.
School, work, church, home, her life was a constant cycle of movement. She barely noticed people anymore; she just moved past them.

One afternoon, as she hurried home, she saw a young girl sitting quietly by the roadside, tears rolling down her face. For a moment, Amara slowed down… then continued walking.

But something within her wouldn’t let her go.

She stopped. Turned back. And gently asked, “Are you okay?”

That simple question opened a floodgate. The girl had been overwhelmed, family struggles, hunger, and loneliness all at once. Amara didn’t have all the answers, but she stayed. She listened. She bought her food. She spoke words of comfort.

Days later, the girl returned with her mother, full of gratitude. What Amara thought was a “small act” had meant everything to someone else.

That night, Amara reflected deeply.
How many cries for help had she ignored in the name of being “busy”?

She remembered the story of Rebekah, how a simple act of kindness, offering water to a stranger, positioned her for a destiny she never imagined. She didn’t just help; she went the extra mile. And that moment changed her life forever.

Help is not limited to money.
Sometimes, help is your time.
Sometimes, it is your presence.
Sometimes, it is simply listening when someone is breaking inside.

Every day, people are silently crying for help.
The question is are you sensitive enough to notice?

Your response to someone’s need may be God’s test of your heart.
And your willingness to help may be the doorway to your next level of blessing.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Genesis 24:19 – “After she had given him a drink, she said, ‘I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink.’”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, make my heart sensitive to the needs of people around me.
Father, give me the grace to go beyond convenience and truly help others.
Lord, use me as a vessel of help and let my actions reflect Your love.
