PROBLEMS ARE NORMAL

Tunde had always admired his grandmother, Mama Dara. She was small in size but mighty in faith. No matter what the family went through, Mama Dara was the one who carried peace like a blanket and covered everyone with it.

The day the doctor announced that Tunde’s mother needed an urgent surgery, fear shook the entire family. Everyone cried. Everyone panicked. Everyone… except Mama Dara.

She simply pulled her wrapper tighter, clapped her hands once, and said, “God will handle it. Let’s go home and eat.”

That night, as they all forced themselves through dinner, Mama Dara happily ate her bowl of hot pap like she had no care in the world. Tunde watched her closely. How could someone have so many battles and still look like she lived in constant sunshine?

This was the same woman who lost her first child at birth…
Who raised five children alone after her husband died young…
Whose youngest son was once paralyzed for six months before recovering miraculously…
Whose house almost burned down but was saved by unexpected rain…

Yet every time something happened, Mama Dara would say one sentence:
“Storms are normal. What is not normal is letting storms win.”

She often reminded the family of Jesus’ words, that the rain will fall, the winds will blow, and the storms will beat against every house. But the house built on the Rock will stand.
Not because storms didn’t come…
But because storms couldn’t break it.

As Tunde sat watching her, Mama Dara turned to him and smiled, “My boy, worry solves nothing. Prayer helps something. But believing truly believing that God is able? That is what changes everything.”

Her words rested on his heart like warm oil. For the first time in days, he felt hope. After dinner, he found a quiet corner, knelt down, and prayed not with fear, but with faith.

And in that moment, he felt peace wash over him.
The storm hadn’t ended…
But suddenly, he knew the storm wouldn’t win.

Storms don’t mean God has abandoned you.
They simply mean life is happening, just as Jesus said it would.

But here is the good news:
You are not storm-proof, but you are storm-resistant through Christ.

Worrying accomplishes nothing.
Praying accomplishes something.
Believing accomplishes everything.

Hold on to faith. The One who walks on water still walks into storms and speaks, “Peace, be still.”

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 21:22 – “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, give me the strength to stand firm when storms rise against my life.

Father, help me replace worry with faith and fear with trust.

Lord, build my life on the Rock so no storm will overcome me.
