WHEN THE RAIN RETURNS

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Titi had always loved visiting Mama Ronke’s fruit stall. Not just because Mama Ronke sold the sweetest pineapples in the entire town, but because the woman carried joy like a fragrance. She greeted customers cheerfully, prayed for children passing by, and always had a word of encouragement ready.

But on this particular afternoon, something felt off.
Her usually vibrant stall looked unusually bare. Only a few baskets sat on the table,half-filled, dull-looking fruits.

“Ah, Mama Ronke! What happened?” Titi asked, concerned.

Mama Ronke smiled faintly. “My daughter, the market has been dry. For months now, sales have dropped, suppliers disappoint, and fruit goes bad before customers even come.”

Yet, even in her dryness, she pushed forward. She offered Titi one of the freshest pineapples, refusing payment.

“I can’t take this for free,” Titi protested.
“Take it,” Mama said with conviction. “I will never stop sowing, even in the dry season.”

As Titi held the pineapple, she felt a nudge in her spirit.
She placed the fruit down, held Mama Ronke’s hands, and whispered:

“Pray this prayer every day:
‘My Father, my Father, in every area of my life experiencing dryness, let Your rain of abundance fall in Jesus’ name.’”

Mama’s eyes widened. “Ah! Let me write that down!”

As she scribbled the words, Titi looked around the shop properly for the first time. The dryness was undeniable. But the prayer had been heaven-sent.

Weeks passed.
Then one bright Saturday morning, Titi returned to the market and she stopped in shock.

Mama Ronke’s stall was overflowing. Fresh fruits stacked high. Customers lined up. Market women pointed at her stall saying, “That is the shop God has remembered!”

Mama Ronke spotted Titi, ran toward her, and hugged her tightly.
“It worked! My daughter, it worked! God opened the heavens over me. The dryness is gone!”

Her testimony was loud. Her joy was loud. Her abundance was louder.

Dryness is not normal.
God never created you to live in lack, emptiness, or stagnation.

A person can experience dryness in their:
– finances
– marriage
– health
– business
– spiritual life
– relationships

But the God who made water gush out of a rock can make abundance burst forth from any dry place.

One sincere prayer can shift seasons.
One cry for help can open the heavens.

Don’t get used to dryness.
Don’t settle into emptiness.
Lift your voice. Change your season.

PRAYER DECLARATION:
“My Father, my Father, in every area of my life suffering dryness, let me begin to experience abundance in the name of Jesus.”

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Exodus 17:6 – “I will stand there before you… strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.”
