‘WHEN GOD CALLS YOUR NAME’

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Bolanle had done everything right, or so she thought.

After three confirmations through prayer, her husband, and her pastor, she left her 9–5 job to start a smoothie and water distribution business. It aligned perfectly with what she believed God had said: “Liquid nourishment for this generation.”

But weeks in, the shop was quiet. Sales were low. Staff were idle.

One afternoon, overwhelmed, Bolanle knelt in the middle of her store.

“Lord, you told me to do this. Why does it look like you’re not backing me up?”

And then came the whisper:

“I gave you the vision. But visions don’t fly without fire. The business needs prayer just like your marriage, your children, and your soul do.”

It hit her.

She had done the planning, registered the business, branded the bottles, yet she hadn’t prayed since opening day. She had assumed obedience alone guaranteed results.

That day, Bolanle turned her shop into an altar. She began to call forth clients from the north, south, east, and west. She declared her products would be sought-after. She asked the Lord to put her name in the hearts of decision-makers.

A week later, her story changed.

A corporate office messaged her via Instagram, requesting bulk weekly deliveries.

A mother of the bride asked her to supply 2000 bottles of water for a wedding.

A café owner said, “I don’t know how I found your business page, but I just felt led to reach out.”

That was when Bolanle understood: When God calls your name in hidden places, even strangers will find you.

REFLECTION:

Many believers confuse divine instruction with automatic manifestation.

Yes, God may have led you to that career, marriage, ministry, or project, but are you fueling it with prayer?

Jesus was born in a manger, but He wasn’t ignored. Why? Heaven announced Him.

When God markets you, even wilderness places become attractive. But His announcement usually follows your alignment and intercession.

Don’t just do the work, pray the work into visibility.

KEY SCRIPTURE:

“And the fame of Jesus spread throughout all the region…”
—Matthew 4:24

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, every good thing You’ve instructed me to do, breathe Your power into it.

2. Father, call my name in rooms where I have no physical access.

3. Oh Lord, market my skills, business, and calling to the hearts of those who matter.

4. I decree open heavens over every effort inspired by You, no more dryness in Jesus’ name.

    3. Visions must be prayed into reality even when given by God. As soon as Zion travails… Thank you ma for this.

    4. I really needed this, thank you ma. Often times I forget to pray, I expect things to work themselves. I shall surely start praying fervently over my business.
