‘WHY DO YOU WANT TO LIVE?’

Debo had narrowly escaped death twice.
First, it was a ghastly car accident that left the vehicle a mangled wreck. The second was a mysterious illness doctors couldn’t diagnose.

Each time, he recovered.
Each time, he testified in church:
“I shall not die, but live…”

But months after his second miracle, he went back to the same lifestyle: womanising, clubbing, scheming. One day, his cousin asked him:

“Why exactly do you want to live?”
Debo was stunned. No one had ever asked that.

Psalm 118:17 says:
“I shall not die, but live… to declare the works of the Lord.”

The part most people leave out is the reason.
You don’t just live for self-preservation, you live to fulfill divine purpose.

God doesn’t keep us alive to continue in sin, bitterness, or aimless ambition.
He sustains us to declare His goodness, model His character, and reflect His glory.

So, friend, why should you live?

Will your life speak of Christ?
Will your marriage reflect His grace?
Will your business carry His values?
Will your children hear your testimony and love your God?

Your reason for living must be bigger than survival.
It must echo in heaven.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 118:17 – “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”

PRAYER DECLARATION:
🙏 Lord, I surrender my life for Your purpose.
🙏 Let me live to proclaim Your wonders and lead others to You.
🙏 May I be a living witness of Your love, power, and grace.

Your life is not just spared, it is assigned.
Live like it.
