WHEN YOU LONG FOR ANOTHER’S BLESSING

Bisi scrolled through her phone late into the night.
“Wow… look at Tolu’s wedding pictures, so glamorous. I would give anything to have this kind of life…” she whispered.

Earlier that week, she had admired her colleague’s new apartment.
“If only I could live here, I’d finally be happy,” she thought.

Everywhere she turned, she found herself longing for someone else’s blessings. She didn’t know the struggles behind their smiles—debts hidden under the flashy cars, tears behind the perfect family portraits, and pain masked by laughter.

One evening, as she envied another post online, a scripture came alive in her heart:
“You shall not covet…”

Suddenly, it clicked—she had been wasting her energy craving someone else’s life instead of asking God for His unique plan for her.

That night, she prayed differently:
“Lord, I don’t want another person’s story. Write mine beautifully, in Your way.”

Weeks later, peace settled in her heart. Instead of comparison, gratitude flowed. She began to see God’s fingerprints in her own journey—small provisions, daily mercies, and opportunities she had once overlooked.

And in her spirit, she heard Him whisper:
“My child, I have written your story. Trust Me—it is good, and it is yours.”

Comparing your life to another’s is a dangerous trap. What you envy may be someone else’s hidden pain. God does not duplicate destinies; He custom-makes them.

If you truly desire a good gift, don’t covet another’s blessing—ask your Father. He gives perfect gifts, tailor-made for His children.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Lord, deliver me from the trap of comparison and envy.
  2. Father, open my eyes to see and appreciate the blessings already in my life.
  3. Lord, give me a customized miracle—Your best for me, in Your time.
