Bayo burst into the house, his face pale and his voice shaking.

“Maami, please help me… they’ve twisted my words!”

His mother looked up with concern. “What happened?”

“I told someone at the office that our boss is a very good man,” Bayo explained. “But somehow, they reported it to him as if I was mocking him. They said I was being sarcastic. This morning, my boss called me in… and before I could explain anything, he fired me.”

His mother sighed deeply. She had lived long enough to know that sometimes, the greatest battles people face are not physical ones but battles of words.

There are people who find pleasure in twisting what others say. A simple statement can be turned into an accusation. Honest words can be reshaped into something harmful. And before the truth has a chance to stand, damage has already been done.

Even the Psalmist cried out about this same experience. His words were constantly twisted by those who wanted to harm him.

But the good news is this: when God stands as your defender, no manipulation of words can ultimately destroy your destiny. What men twist, God can straighten. What people distort, God can clarify.

Sometimes the battle you face is not what you did, but what others claim you said.

When that happens, don’t let bitterness take over your heart. Instead, place the matter in God’s hands. He is the One who knows the truth and can silence every lying tongue.

Psalm 56:5 – “They are always twisting what I say; they spend their days plotting to harm me.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, silence every tongue that twists my words against me.

Father, defend my reputation wherever it is being misrepresented.

Lord, let truth prevail over every false interpretation spoken about me.
