WHEN WARNINGS ARE IGNORED

Chinedu had worked faithfully for years, earning respect and rising steadily in his organization. When the position of General Manager opened up, his name was among the top three candidates. It was a big moment. A well-deserved one.

One evening, his cousin called him urgently.

“I had a strange dream about you,” she said. “It didn’t feel ordinary. I saw danger around you… Please, don’t ignore this. Pray. Cover yourself.”

Chinedu laughed it off.
“Not everything is spiritual. We’re just competing. Nothing more.”

“But what if it’s more?” she insisted.

“I’m fine,” he replied casually.

Days passed. Life continued. But the warning lingered unattended.

Then one night, something unexpected happened. A break-in. A struggle. And by morning, the house that once held life was filled with mourning.

The news shocked everyone.
“How?”
“Why?”
“No one saw it coming…”

But heaven had sent a signal.
A warning had been given.

Scripture tells us of a man named Gedaliah, who was warned about a plot against his life. He was told clearly. Even offered help to prevent it. But he dismissed the warning. He assumed all was well.

Not long after, the very thing he ignored became his reality.

God, in His mercy, often reveals things ahead of time not to create fear,
but to provoke prayer.

Not every warning is meant to be debated.
Some are meant to be acted upon.

When God shows you something, don’t ignore it.
Don’t overanalyze it.
Take it back to Him in prayer.

Because sometimes, the difference between safety and sorrow
is simply obedience to a warning.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Jeremiah 40:14 – “Do you know that Baalis king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael… to take your life?” But Gedaliah did not believe them.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, help me to discern and recognize Your warnings in my life.
Father, give me the wisdom to respond with prayer and not ignore divine signals.
Lord, frustrate every evil plan against my life and my loved ones.
