WHEN THE ROOT IS THE PROBLEM

For years, Emeka’s shop had been the busiest spot on the street. From morning till night, customers filled the place. People loved his meals, and he proudly said, “As long as people need food, I will never lack customers.”

But recently, things had changed.

The once lively shop now sat quietly for hours. Tables that used to be filled with laughter and conversation remained empty. Emeka stood behind the counter one afternoon, staring at the door that hardly opened anymore.

“God, what happened?” he whispered. “Why has everything suddenly stopped?”

He tried different strategies, discounts, free drinks, special offers but nothing changed. Business kept getting worse.

One evening, while closing the shop, a heavy thought crossed his mind:
“Could something deeper be wrong?”

As he sat alone in the silent restaurant, memories began to flash through his mind, choices he had recently made, habits he had allowed to grow, things he knew in his heart were not pleasing to God.

Suddenly he realized something painful: while he was asking God to bless his business, he had been living in ways that dishonored Him.

With tears in his eyes, Emeka knelt beside one of the empty tables.

“Lord… if my own actions are the reason things have gone wrong, please forgive me. Clean my life and help me start again.”

That night, peace slowly filled his heart.

Days later, customers began to return. Slowly at first… then more and more. The place that once felt deserted started to come alive again.

Emeka learned a lesson he would never forget: sometimes the real problem is not outside, it is within.

Many times, when things go wrong, we are quick to blame enemies, circumstances, or bad luck.

But sometimes God is simply calling us back to Him.

In the Bible, when a paralyzed man was brought to Jesus, everyone expected healing. Instead, Jesus first said, “Your sins are forgiven.”

This shows that sometimes the root of our problems is spiritual, and the solution begins with repentance.

When the heart is restored, many things around us begin to align again.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Mark 2:5 – “When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, search my heart and reveal anything in my life that displeases You.

Father, have mercy on me and forgive every sin that may be hindering my progress.

Lord, restore what has been affected in my life and draw me closer to You.
