WHEN THE RAIN RETURNS

Sanni stood at the edge of his farmland, staring blankly at the dry, cracked soil. Months ago, this same ground had been lush and green — yielding yams, maize, and vegetables. Now, it looked like a wasteland.

“We need rain!” his neighbor shouted as he passed by with his empty basket.

Sanni nodded silently. Yes, rain — but not just the kind that falls from the sky. What he truly needed was the rain of God’s mercy.

Everything in his life had become dry.
His business had collapsed. His parents were ill. His sisters — each battling their own crisis — leaned on him for survival.

Amina’s husband had abandoned her with four children.
Halima was widowed.
Zainab had been sent out of her marriage for being barren.
And Fatima, the youngest, was depressed because no man had come to marry her.

That afternoon, Sanni dropped to his knees right there on the hard ground of his farm and cried:

“Lord, let it rain!
Not just on this land, but on my life.
Let Your rain of mercy, favor, and fruitfulness fall upon me.
The ground of my life is dry — nothing is growing anymore.
Lord, pour out Your rain!”

Unknown to him, Amina had come to the farm too. Hearing her brother pray, she knelt beside him and joined in.

“Lord, just like You did for Elijah, let it rain again.
End the drought in our family. Let fruitfulness, peace, and breakthrough return to our lives!”

That day marked the turning point.

Within months, clouds began to gather — not just in the sky, but in their lives.
Rain fell heavily on Sanni’s land, and his crops flourished beyond expectation. Buyers came from far and near to purchase from his farm.

Amina’s husband returned home, Halima remarried, Zainab conceived, and Fatima got engaged to a young entrepreneur who later became a great blessing to their family business.

Their story changed.
The same people who once said “Times are hard” now said,

“Things are soft for Sanni — truly, God has rained on his life.”

FRIEND,

When life feels dry and empty — when nothing seems to grow despite your effort — don’t just complain. Cry out for the rain of Heaven.

God can turn dry seasons into fruitful harvests. Just as He answered Elijah with rain after years of drought, He can also end your dryness and cause your life to flourish again.

LESSON:
When life’s ground becomes hard, don’t give up — pray for rain. God’s rain brings renewal, restoration, and results.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
1 Kings 18:45 (NIV) — “Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling, and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.”

PRAYER POINTS:

2️⃣ Father, let every hard ground — in my finances, family, and faith — receive life again.
3️⃣ Lord, end every drought in my destiny and make me fruitful once more.
4️⃣ I receive divine rain of mercy, favor, and abundance — in Jesus’ name.
