WHEN HIS WILL DOESN’T MAKE SENSE
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Amara had always planned her life carefully.
Everything had a timeline.
Everything had a direction.
So when things began to go differently, she was confused.
The job she prayed for didn’t come.
The path she studied for didn’t open.
Instead, doors she never considered began to appear unexpected opportunities, unfamiliar directions, uncomfortable instructions.
One night, overwhelmed, she cried out,
“Lord, why is my life not going the way I planned? What are You doing?”
Silence filled the room…
then a quiet thought settled in her heart:
“Must My will always make sense to you before you trust Me?”
Amara paused.
She began to realize that her frustration was not because God was absent, it was because His plan did not align with her expectations.
Days later, during her quiet time, she stumbled on a scripture:
“Having made known unto us the mystery of His will…”
That word mystery gripped her.
God’s will is not always logical.
It is not always comfortable.
And it is not always explainable.
Sometimes, His will leads you in directions you never imagined not to confuse you, but to fulfill something greater than what you can see.
From that day, Amara changed her prayer.
She stopped asking God to bless her plans
and started asking Him to reveal His own.
“Lord, even when I don’t understand, help me to follow.
Reveal to me the mystery of Your will.”
And slowly, clarity replaced confusion.
Not because everything made sense
but because she trusted the One who knew the end from the beginning.
God’s will is not always obvious, but it is always intentional.
If you only follow what makes sense,
you may miss what God has ordained.
Stop trying to figure everything out.
Start seeking His will.
Because in His will even when it feels strange
lies your purpose, your peace, and your fulfillment.
KEY SCRIPTURE:
Ephesians 1:9 – “Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure…”
PRAYER POINTS:
Lord, forgive me for trying to force my own plans instead of seeking Your will.
Father, reveal to me the mystery of Your will concerning every area of my life.
Lord, give me the grace to trust and follow You, even when I do not understand.
