“WHEN FRIENDSHIP FEELS LIKE BETRAYAL”

As Inspired by The LIVING WORD
“You kissed me with words of comfort…
You made me believe I was safe with you.
But behind my back, you showed them the way to wound me.
You knew my hiding place,
You knew my weaknesses,
You told them where to find me…
And now, I am being nailed by the hands of someone I once called friend.”
A letter from a betrayed heart.
In this journey called life, we often meet people who appear sent from heaven.
They offer counsel, warmth, and safety.
We grow to trust them,
We open up,
We share our secrets, our fears, our sacred places…
But some of them are not anchors. They are agents.
Not poor in wealth, but poor in loyalty.
Willing vessels for betrayal.
But here’s the truth: The devil doesn’t come wearing horns, he uses the familiar.
He uses the one who knows your prayer pattern, your hiding place.
Just like Judas, who knew Jesus’ usual retreat to the Mount of Olives (Luke 22:39).
That’s how betrayal creeps in: not from the enemy outside, but from the friend inside.
Has something precious in your life been destroyed because of someone you trusted?
Don’t fret. Don’t collapse. Recover.
Bring it all to the altar of prayer.
Ask God to erase your secrets from the minds of unfaithful friends.
Pray for life and purpose to be restored.
And declare:
I am not Samson. You won’t kiss and kill me.
And if, like Jesus, your Judas was allowed by God,
Then know this: betrayal is just a push into your divine assignment.
They won’t end you. They will elevate you.
PRAY:
Lord, silence every Judas in my life. Wipe my secrets from their memory. Restore my glory and protect my destiny from familiar betrayal.
Scripture Reference: Psalm 109, Luke 22:39
You are not alone. You are not broken.
You are rising.
