WHEN FEAR KNOCKS, PRAY LOUDER

Teni couldn’t sleep that night.
Her mind was racing with worry.

The hospital report.
The unpaid bills.
The uncertainty about tomorrow.

Fear sat heavily on her chest like a giant stone. She tried distracting herself with movies, scrolling endlessly through her phone, even pretending everything was fine but deep down, panic was winning.

At exactly 2:17 a.m., she burst into tears.
Not quiet tears.
Not “cute” tears.
The kind of tears that come from a heart that has reached its limit.

As she cried before God, one sentence rose strongly in her spirit:
“Why are you fearing, when you can cry to Me?”

She paused.

Suddenly, Romans 8:15 came alive in her heart:
“You did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’”

That was it.

Fear belongs to slaves.
But prayer belongs to sons and daughters.

A slave trembles before trouble because he feels alone.
But a child runs to the Father.

That night, Teni stopped rehearsing fearful thoughts and started pouring out her heart in prayer. She cried, worshipped, prayed in faith, and handed every burden to God.

The problem did not disappear overnight, but something changed immediately, her heart. Peace replaced panic. Strength replaced weakness. Hope returned.

And days later, she smiled as she watched God make a way where there seemed to be none.

Child of God, fear is not your inheritance.
You are not abandoned.
You are not fighting alone.

When life presses hard against you, don’t collapse in fear, cry out to your Father in prayer.

The enemy wants panic to silence you, but God wants prayer to strengthen you.

Why fear…
when you can cry to Abba Father?

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Romans 8:15 – “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, deliver me from every spirit of fear and anxiety.
Father, teach me to run to You in prayer instead of panicking in difficult situations.
Lord, let Your peace fill my heart as I trust You completely.
