Martha had just been promoted at her workplace. Her colleagues clapped, but in the corner of the room, she noticed the stiff smiles and whispered exchanges. Some congratulated her warmly, but she could tell—others were not happy for her.

At first, she tried harder to please them—buying lunch, speaking softly, and shrinking her celebrations. But no matter what she did, the tension remained.

One evening during her quiet time, she remembered Joseph in the Bible. His brothers hated him not because he did wrong, but because God’s hand was upon him. The envy grew stronger when he openly shared his dreams.

Martha realized the truth: not everyone will celebrate your joy. Some will hate you simply because God has favored you. But instead of living in fear or bitterness, the answer is to take the matter to God.

That night, she prayed, “Lord, guard my heart against bitterness and protect me from those who secretly envy me. Lift me so high that no one’s hatred can bring me down.”

Peace returned to her spirit. She no longer tried to impress anyone—she only sought to please the One who promoted her.

There will always be people who dislike you for reasons you cannot control—your happiness, your progress, or even your dreams. But don’t waste energy trying to win them over.

The truth is simple: your haters are not stronger than your God.

Deal with them on your knees. Guard your tongue. And let God fight for you as He lifts you beyond their reach.

Psalm 23:5 – “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.”

1. Lord, shield me from the destructive plans of those who envy me.
2. Father, teach me wisdom in how I share my blessings and successes.
3. Lord, lift me to greater heights in ways that will silence every hater and glorify Your name.
