WHEN DISCERNMENT SPEAKS

Amara was known for her kind heart.
Her door was always open.
Her food was always shared.
Her space was never restricted.

To her, everyone deserved love.

But not everyone deserved access.

When Zainab joined the school, she quickly heard about Amara, the cheerful girl who welcomed everyone. But unlike others, Zainab carried a different intention. She didn’t like happy people. Joy irritated her. And Amara’s constant smile became her next target.

Zainab studied her carefully and discovered something:
the fastest way into Amara’s life was through faith.

So she pretended.
She spoke the right words.
Acted the right way.
Said “God bless you” at the right times.

And just like that, she gained access.

But something didn’t sit right with Amara.
There was no evidence.
No clear reason.
Just a quiet discomfort in her spirit.

Instead of ignoring it, she prayed.

Her mother had always told her,
“Don’t live your life blindly. Ask God to show you the hearts of people.”

So Amara withdrew for a few days and sought God sincerely.

And in the place of prayer, a scripture dropped in her heart:

“Watch out that no one deceives you…”

Her eyes opened instantly.
That discomfort was not fear, it was discernment.

She returned and, with calm boldness, set a boundary.
No arguments.
No explanations.
Just clarity.

Zainab left quietly.
What Amara didn’t know was that her plan had been to destroy her reputation and scatter everything she had built.

But what deception planned,
discernment exposed.

Not everyone who comes close to you comes with good intentions.
Some come smiling but carrying hidden agendas.

Discernment is God’s gift to protect you from what your eyes cannot see.

Pay attention to that inner check.
Take it to God in prayer.
Because one revealed truth can save you from many hidden battles.

Mark 13:5 – “Jesus said to them: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you.’”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, give me the spirit of discernment to understand the hearts of those around me.

Father, expose every hidden agenda that is not from You.

Lord, help me to recognize true friends and avoid deceptive relationships.
