WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

As Inspired by the LIVING WORD
I sat quietly one night, tired of repeating the same cycle.
Strong beginnings. Weak endings.
I had asked myself the same question too many times:
“Why do I always start well but never finish?”
I had made promises I truly meant.
I had prayed prayers filled with fire.
I had taken decisions with genuine conviction.
Yet somehow, the fire didn’t last.
Good intentions fizzled out. Discipline weakened. Commitments slowly slipped away.
I wasn’t careless.
I wasn’t lazy.
I wasn’t unserious.
So what was wrong?
Then light came from Scripture.
Jesus spoke of seeds that fell on rocky ground, they sprang up quickly, looked promising, but had no depth.
When pressure came, when resistance appeared, when the excitement wore off,
they faded away.
And suddenly, I understood.
The issue wasn’t the idea. It wasn’t the decision. It wasn’t even the desire. The real problem was depth.
Anything without roots cannot last.
Anything without depth cannot endure.
Life will always bring pressure.
Discipline will always demand effort.
Growth will always test consistency.
Only rooted people survive seasons.
Some people stand firm not because life is easy for them, but because they are deeply rooted in truth, in discipline, in God.
Roots are built quietly. Not in excitement, but in consistency. Not in loud declarations,
but in daily surrender.
That night, my prayer changed. I stopped asking for motivation. I started asking for roots.
Quick starts don’t guarantee lasting results.
Depth does. If you want to endure, you must grow downward before you grow upward.
Ask God to root you in Him, in discipline, in truth. When roots are strong, storms only make you stronger.
KEY SCRIPTURE:
Colossians 2:7 –
“Rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught.”
PRAYER POINTS:
Lord, uproot every instability in my heart and plant me deeply in You.
Father, give me spiritual roots that will help me endure challenges and distractions.
Lord, help me finish what I start and remain consistent until victory comes.
