You won’t believe it, he was still standing.

Hours had passed.
The altar was there.
The sacrifice was there.
And the enemy was still standing in position, unyielding, unmoved, determined.

What kind of resolve is this?
A frightening one.
The kind that refuses to rest until destruction is achieved.

This scene hides in a familiar Bible story, the account of Balaam and Balak.
Many think they know it,
but there is a coded lesson that demands attention.

Balak, king of Moab, was desperate to destroy God’s people.
So desperate that he did something shocking, he hired a genuine prophet of God to curse them.

It is not only fake prophets that can be approached against a person.
Even genuine spiritual channels can be targeted by wicked men, but here is the comfort:
no true curse can stand where God has blessed.

When Balaam left Balak with the sacrifice to meet the Lord,
he instructed him to stand by the offering.
The Bible records something striking:

“So he went back and found Balak still standing by his burnt offering…” (Numbers 23:6)

Not resting.
Not distracted.
Still standing.

Balak repeated the sacrifice again.
And again, when Balaam returned, Balak was still standing (Numbers 23:17).

This was not casual opposition.
This was calculated, persistent, desperate hostility.

Wicked people often give everything to their evil plans.
They stand firm in darkness.
They persist in manipulation.
They don’t quit easily.

That is why believers must be even more rooted, steadfast in prayer,
consistent in obedience,
firm in relationship with God.

Because when the enemy stands aggressively,
God must rise defensively.

Balak stood.
But God spoke.
And every attempt to curse turned into blessing.

So let this be your confidence:
No matter how long an enemy stands,
no matter how determined the opposition,
they cannot override God’s verdict over your life.

If anyone sees your progress as a threat,
your peace as an offense,
your shining as a problem, God Himself will be your shield.

Stand with God,
and let Him fight what you cannot see.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Numbers 23:23 – “There is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, arise as my defense against every determined opposition.

Father, turn every plan spoken against me into blessings.

Lord, help me to stand firm in You, no matter how fierce the pressure.
