THE POWER OF LITTLE THINGS

A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

As Inspired by the LIVING WORD

When David stepped forward to face Goliath, King Saul handed him a sword, a shield, and heavy armor. But David shook his head.
“These are not what I need,” he said, reaching instead for five smooth stones from the brook.

The soldiers must have laughed — “Stones? Against a giant?”

Yet, with just one stone, the mighty Goliath fell.

Tomiwa could relate. For years, she had been searching for a breakthrough — sending CVs to big companies, applying for loans, chasing grand ideas. Yet, nothing worked.

One afternoon, she felt the Holy Spirit whisper:

“What’s in your hand?”

All she had was her old phone and her baking skill.
So, she started small — taking cake orders from neighbors, posting pictures online, and delivering them herself.

Months later, her “small start” became a registered brand. She was invited to cater for corporate events, and her business expanded faster than she could imagine.

Her little stone — baking — brought down the giant of lack.

FRIEND,

Sometimes, your miracle doesn’t come from something big — it comes from something small but consistent.

Stop waiting for a massive opportunity before you move. God can use that “little thing” in your hand to produce extraordinary results.

Maybe it’s a skill, a small job, a seed to sow, or a single idea you’ve been ignoring.
Don’t despise it. That may be the stone that silences your Goliath.

Don’t wait for the big chance — start with what you have. The little in your hand can become mighty in God’s hand.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
1 Samuel 17:40 (NIV) – “Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.”

PRAYER POINTS:
1️⃣ Lord, open my eyes to the “little stones” around me — the opportunities I’ve been overlooking.
2️⃣ Father, bless the work of my hands and multiply my small beginnings.
3️⃣ Lord, let the little efforts I make produce mighty results.
4️⃣ Help me not to despise small starts, but to trust Your power to enlarge them.
