A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Tola stared at the rejection email for the fifth time that morning.
It was the third “we regret to inform you…” she’d received in two weeks.
This last one hurt the most, it was her dream job, the one she had fasted and prayed about.

She cried for hours.

“This is unfair, God. Why open the door halfway, only to shut it in my face?”

But as she sat in silence, still angry, she reached for her Bible without even thinking. It opened to Ruth chapter 2.

She read about Ruth, a woman who had every reason to sit in her pain.
She had lost her husband, was living in a new land, and had no guarantees of survival.
But she moved. She got up and went to the fields. And right there in motion,she met Boaz, her destiny connection.

That was Tola’s wake-up call.

She wiped her tears, updated her CV, and applied for a position she had previously ruled out.

Three days later, the phone rang.
It was from an organization she had never imagined working with, but they offered her more pay, better hours, and room to grow.

We all have moments when life hits hard; relationships end, dreams shatter, or loss knocks the breath out of us.
And like the Israelites at the Red Sea, we find ourselves crying, paralyzed by pain and fear.

But hear God’s voice:  “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.” – Exodus 14:15

Faith doesn’t always feel strong.
Sometimes, it’s just taking the next small step, applying again, loving again, trying again.

Tears are valid. Grief is real. But staying there too long will rob you of what God has ahead.
Like Ruth, your Boaz won’t find you in your room of regret.
Like the Israelites, the Red Sea won’t part until you start moving.

    I quote from the devotional:

  6. The above devotion reminds of the story titled “Who moved my Cheese”
    Hem was so bittered and refused to move forward, he became paralysed in his comfort zone but Haw, was wise enough to decide never to accept defeat and settle for the less. No matter the situation, I won’t stop moving forward.
