It almost feels unfair, why would those so gifted, so anointed, so evidently blessed still carry such heavy private burdens?

It’s not punishment, it’s a principle. God knows the human heart. Without intentional grounding, success often breeds pride. And pride is a silent destroyer.

Like Apostle Paul confessed in 2 Corinthians 12:7:
“Even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh… to keep me from becoming proud.”

In God’s mercy, He sometimes allows “thorns,” not to destroy us, but to preserve us. To remind us that our greatness comes from Him, and without Him, we are nothing.

But there’s a more excellent path, willing humility. A decision to stay low even when you’re high. To bow even when you’re being crowned.

So ask yourself today: can God lift you without losing you?

Let Him trust you with glory without needing to balance it with pain.

1. Lord, give me a heart that remembers You even when I sit among kings.

2. May I always find joy in serving, no matter how high You elevate me.

3. Father, may I walk in humility by choice, not by force, in Jesus’ name.
