‘THE GOD I KNOW’
A Deep Thoughts Devotional Story

Gbemisola was in a foreign country, alone and scared. Her scholarship had fallen through, her rent was due, and her phone buzzed with reminders of unpaid bills. She had called everyone she knew, but no one had the capacity to help.
That night, she lay on her bed and whispered, “God, I don’t even know what to call You anymore.”
But suddenly, she remembered what her grandmother used to call God in Yoruba:
“Adani Ma Gbagbe Eni” – The Creator who never forgets His Creature.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
Then came another name her mother often sang in her dialect:
“Olowo Gbogboro” – The God with a mighty outstretched hand.
She got up and began to call Him by all the names she’d ever heard.
She danced. She wept. She worshipped.
The very next day, she received an email: “Your funding has been reinstated. Full tuition and stipend. Welcome back to the program.”
It wasn’t just a miracle, it was a reminder. God responds to revelation. When you know Him by name, you call Him with confidence.
***
God is not distant. He’s personal.
The way you know Him determines how you relate to Him.
David called Him “my Shepherd.”
Hagar called Him “the God who sees me.”
The Israelites called Him “Jehovah Nissi” The Lord my Banner.
And you? What do you call Him in your storm, in your joy, in your silence?
The more you know His names, the more you understand His nature.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Exodus 3:15 – “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.”
****
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, reveal Yourself to me in a way that’s personal and unforgettable.
2. Help me never to forget the power in Your name.
3. Let my knowledge of who You are open doors of divine intervention in my life.
