TARGETED BUT NOT TAKEN

Did you know that both Job and Peter were targeted by the enemy yet their outcomes were different?

The devil asked for Job.
He was given access to Job’s possessions.
And Job entered a season of severe testing.

The devil also asked for Peter.
But this time, something changed.
Jesus said, “I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail.”

Same enemy.
Same request.
Different result.

The difference was intercession.

Job had no one recorded as standing in the gap for him but Peter had Jesus Himself praying on his behalf.
And though Peter stumbled, he did not fall away.
He returned stronger.
He strengthened others.

This teaches us something powerful:
The enemy is constantly requesting access to marriages,
to children,
to destinies,
to hearts.

But when someone stands in the gap, when someone prays, when someone intercedes  heaven responds, and hell retreats.

Interestingly, Job himself later became an intercessor.
When he prayed for his friends, God restored him.
His breakthrough was tied to his willingness to stand in the gap for others.

This is the mystery of prayer:
When you pray for others, you protect yourself.
When you stand for others, heaven stands for you.

The enemy seeks permission,
but prayer blocks access.

Don’t walk alone.
Don’t pray alone.
Be surrounded by people who can pray for you and become the kind of person who prays for others.

Intercession is not optional;
it is spiritual insurance.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Luke 22:31–32 –
“Simon, Simon! Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, raise intercessors around me who will stand in the gap for my life and destiny.

Father, make me a faithful intercessor for my family, friends, and loved ones.

Lord, let every plan of the enemy against my life be frustrated through prayer and faith.
