Carol and Henry were some of the most zealous evangelists anyone could meet. By 5 a.m., they were already out, passionately sharing the gospel. Their fire for God was contagious—but there was one problem.

They often went out unkempt. Their clothes were rough, their shoes dirty, their breath unwashed. Though their message was powerful, their appearance sent another message entirely.

One day, under a tree, I asked them:
“Which brand do you represent?”
Confused, they replied, “We’re not advertising a product.”
“Yes, you are,” I smiled. “You’re advertising Jesus—the greatest brand on earth. But the way you appear is part of that message too.”

Silence followed.

Many believers fall into this same trap. We carry a glorious gospel but present it carelessly. Without realizing it, we make Jesus look unattractive to unbelievers.

The God we serve values order and cleanliness. When He called Israel to meet Him at Sinai, He told them to wash and prepare themselves (Exodus 19:10-11). If the King of glory required His people to clean up before an encounter, how much more should we present Him well to the world?

Jesus drew crowds everywhere He went. Do you think multitudes would have followed a dirty, shabby Savior? Of course not.

We are ambassadors of Christ. Ambassadors represent their kingdom with excellence. Let’s do the same for our Lord—through our words, our character, and yes, even our appearance.

The gospel is beautiful. Let’s present it beautifully.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
2 Corinthians 5:20 – “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, help me to represent You well in my words, actions, and appearance.

Father, let my life make the gospel attractive to those around me.

Lord, may everything about me reflect Your excellence.
