“Good morning, Ada… this might sound strange, but you’ve been on my heart for days now,” Mrs. Bello said over the phone. “I kept trying to reach you, but something always came up. This morning, I said to myself, ‘I must call her today.’”
Ada sat up on her bed, stunned.
“Ma… you have no idea,” she whispered.
The night before had been one of the hardest nights of her life. Bills were piling up. Food was almost finished. And hope was slipping away.
In the middle of her tears, she had cried out,
“Lord, I know You hear me… but why does it feel like my answers are not reaching me?”
In the stillness, a scripture dropped into her heart. She picked up her Bible and read:
“…I planned many times to come to you, but I was prevented until now…”
She paused. Prevented?
It dawned on her sometimes, it’s not that God hasn’t answered…
It’s that something is standing in the way.
That night, her prayer changed.
“No more gentle prayers,” she said through tears.
“Lord, remove every force delaying my answers. Anything blocking my help, take it away!”
She prayed with a new intensity. A new understanding.
And now… the next morning…
“Ada, is there anything you need help with?” Mrs. Bello asked again.
Ada swallowed. “Yes ma…”
Before she could finish, Mrs. Bello said, “Send me your account details.”
Minutes later, her phone buzzed, an alert.
Before she could recover, another call came in. It was her cousin abroad.
“I don’t know why,” he said, “but I just felt led to support you this morning. I hope you don’t mind?”
Tears rolled down Ada’s face.
The help had always been there…
It was just waiting for the barriers to be broken.
Not every delay means denial.
Sometimes, answers have been released but resisted.
There are moments when blessings are ready,
helpers are willing,
doors are open…
But unseen forces stand in between.
This is why we must not only pray for blessings, we must pray against whatever is preventing them.
KEY SCRIPTURE:
Romans 1:13 – “…I planned many times to come to you, but was prevented until now…”
PRAYER POINTS:
Oh Lord my God, remove every obstacle preventing my blessings from locating me.
Father, break every invisible barrier delaying my helpers and opportunities.
Lord, let every good thing You have released for me find expression in my life without delay.
