‘EXIT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE’

When Ada finally walked away from that life, everyone was shocked. She had it all; designer bags, luxury trips, two apartments in the city, and a man funding it all. But she also had a broken soul and a restless heart.

It started one night at a rooftop party. A street evangelist, barely 25, stood at the gate handing out tracts. Most people ignored him. But Ada paused. His words hit different:
“There’s danger ahead for those living sweet in sin. Leave now while mercy is still calling.”

That night, she couldn’t sleep.

A week later, she left. No note. No explanations. Just packed a bag and moved into a church shelter in town. Her friends said she’d lost her mind. Her inbox was flooded with mockery.

But she knew she had escaped something dark.

Six months passed. One of her old friends, Amaka, came knocking at the church shelter, bruised and sobbing. She’d stayed back in the lifestyle and now carried a child for a man whose wife had threatened her life. Amaka was exhausted. Broken. Lost.

Three years later, Ada was running a rehabilitation center for girls. Her scars had become oil for healing. She never forgot what the evangelist said: “Leave before mercy closes the door.”

There’s a danger in lingering too long in what God has called you out of. Lot’s wife didn’t become a pillar of salt because she didn’t run fast enough but because she looked back.

Some returns come with irreversible consequences.

Don’t let nostalgia pull you back into a prison God delivered you from. Whatever you think you’re losing, you’re gaining much more in Christ.

Genesis 19:26 NIV: But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Genesis 19:15 NIV: With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, help me not to linger where You’ve called me out from.

2. Give me the courage to let go of the past and step fully into Your will.

3. May I never be tempted to look back into destruction once I’ve tasted Your mercy.
