“DON’T GLORIFY CAPTIVITY”

“I can’t even remember the last time I genuinely laughed,” Kelechi said as she folded a pile of clothes beside her. “It’s been survival, not living.”

Deji, sitting across from her, gave a small nod. “Me too. Sometimes I wonder if life was meant to be this grey. No job, no relationship, just the same struggle every day.”

Chiamaka chimed in softly, “I just want to dance at my own wedding. Hear the sound of people rejoicing with me. Is that too much to ask?”

Maybe you’ve had similar thoughts lately. You desire to celebrate something, anything; a new job, a marriage, the birth of a child, or simply a personal breakthrough. The desire for celebration is not carnal; it’s deeply spiritual. Celebration gives glory to God. That’s why the enemy often battles your joy, he knows a joyful child of God is a threat to darkness.

The Israelites longed for such a moment. Stuck in Pharaoh’s grip, they couldn’t feast, dance, or worship freely. But when God heard their cry, He gave Moses a command:

“Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.’” — Exodus 5:1

Friend, God is invested in your joy. He wants your life to be full of feasts and songs of praise. But first, the prison gate must be broken, and sometimes that only happens when you cry out; not in resignation, but in holy defiance against stagnation.

Don’t normalize delay. Don’t decorate captivity. Cry out.

Declare your freedom. Announce your celebration.

🎯 Prayer Points:

  1. Lord, I cry out today, every invisible chain keeping me bound, break by fire in Jesus’ name!
  2. Every stronghold resisting the sound of celebration in my life, be shattered now in Jesus’ name.
  3. Father, let my life become a testimony that glorifies You through consistent joy and divine celebrations.
  4. Every spirit of delay and spiritual imprisonment working against my marital, financial, or spiritual joy be consumed by the fire of God, in Jesus’ name.
  5. From today, I enter into a season of joy, feasting, and laughter. I will not just live, I will celebrate!

Friend, when the Lord gives you that testimony, don’t forget to return with your thanksgiving and yes, don’t forget to invite me. 😊

You will celebrate. Your joy will not be postponed. In Jesus’ name, amen.
