My Eden was peaceful.
My Eden was fruitful.
It was the kind of life people admired from afar and whispered about in envy.

My home was full, strong sons, graceful daughters,
and a wife whose presence brought order, beauty, and warmth.
My work flourished.
My name opened doors.
Everything around me bore good fruit.

I lacked nothing.

Then I listened to a voice I should never have entertained.

He came as a friend,well-spoken, confident, convincing.
He didn’t look like danger.
He sounded like wisdom.

“Why limit yourself?” he asked.
“Faith doesn’t mean denial. You can enjoy more and still be fine.”

I resisted at first.
I knew what God had said.
I knew the boundaries.

But just like the serpent of old,
he reframed disobedience until it sounded reasonable.
He quoted examples out of context.
He diluted truth with logic.

And I agreed.

I didn’t fall all at once.
I lingered.
I tasted.
Then I stayed.

What started as a small compromise became a lifestyle.
What felt sweet at first slowly poisoned everything I loved.

I didn’t notice the changes immediately.
Decline is often silent.

My business lost focus.
My home lost peace.
My children lost direction.
My wife lost herself.

Years passed.
And one day, sitting in a hospital room, I realized something painful, my Eden was gone.

Not taken by God.
Not stolen by enemies.
I walked away from it.

One compromise at a time.

Adultery never adds, it subtracts.
It promises pleasure but delivers decay.
It never gives more; it only takes everything.

So I write this as a warning and a plea:
Don’t trade your Eden for a moment.
Don’t sit near forbidden trees.
Don’t listen to voices that make disobedience sound wise.

Protect what God has given you.
Some losses don’t announce themselves, they reveal themselves years later.

KEY SCRIPTURE:
Genesis 3:6 – “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye… she took some and ate it.”

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, guard my heart from voices that distort Your truth.

Father, strengthen me to honor the boundaries You have set for my life and home.

Lord, restore and preserve every Eden You have entrusted to me.
