CHAPTER 36 – THIS FAMILY CALLED MINE: COLOUR US UP

We never went back to our Father’s house. We forgot about all he left behind.

No, that chapter had closed.
We continued our lives.

We agreed to trust God and see how He would colour up our lives.

Instead, it was at Aunty Favour’s place a.k.a the Lighthouse that became a family house for us.

That sacred space had become an altar for us. It became an altar of restoration… Anytime the opportunity presented itself, we gathered….Not just as sisters bound by blood, but as women who had fought through darkness and reclaimed their light.

A month had passed after the deliverance, we had gone back for prayers three times within that month. We were at her place for the fourth time that month .. The atmosphere at her place was entirely different that evening, it was charged higher than usual, I could literally smell prayer in her office. I started speaking in tongues as I awaited her and my Siblings. She was with the teenagers of the Lighthouse in their hall, while I was waiting in the office.

Setemi was the first to arrive. She walked in with her second daughter holding her hand. The girl had grown visibly brighter. Her eyes no longer carried the weight of hidden visions. Her paintings, now stored away, were no longer portals of torment but preserved memories of a spiritual battle won.

Pamilerin came in next. She wore a simple ankara dress, but her aura was different. Lighter. Brighter. For the first time in a long while, she didn’t arrive with sarcasm or walls and not in Setemi’s shadow.. She smiled…a genuine smile that reached her eyes.

And then Morayo walked in.

Free.

Not just from prison, but from the chains that had bound her emotionally and spiritually. The day before, we had received the call…the case had been dismissed, new evidence had surfaced pointing to someone else entirely…. Someone else had poisoned him before he met Morayo that night.

The timing of her release was nothing short of divine.

We hugged.

All four of us.

Tight.

Long.

Tears streamed down our faces but this time, they were not tears of sorrow, confusion, or pain.

They were tears of release.

Of joy.

Of hope.

“I missed you all,” Morayo finally said, wiping her eyes.

“We missed ourselves,” Pamilerin replied with a small laugh.

Aunty Favour came in with four bottles of zobo.

She smiled..

We sat like students before a teacher.

Aunty Favour started speaking “You are no longer who you used to be. Something died, but something else has risen. And this time, it’s rooted in truth.”

She turned to me . “You will still be the mother of nations. This childbirth delay is over. Your mind is renewed, you won’t be needing a surrogate.”

To Setemi: “Your Fashion Business will go global and your four daughters will bring you glory and not shame. For the one you lost, you will receive immeasurable joy through the four you have in Jesus name.”

To Pamilerin: “International doors and gates are opened unto you in Jesus name”

Then she looked at Morayo.

” For your pain, purpose shall be birthed, and your lost years, your lost virtues will be restored in Jesus name”.

Then she looked at me again. This was the second time…

“Mololuwa…you are the voice of this family, the one who God used to dig up the root. Don’t ever stop speaking, writing, declaring. Through you, many other daughters will find courage to break free from inherited bondages.”

I wept.

We all did.

We prayed.

We danced.

We laughed.

No one mentioned the will again.

No one remembered the inheritance.

Because we had inherited something far greater…peace, clarity, purpose, and freedom.

That night, as we all lay in the guest rooms at Aunty Favour’s Lighthouse, I whispered a prayer I hadn’t dared to say in years because I felt it..I felt peace;

“Thank you, Jesus. For making colour return to our lives.”
