CHAPTER 34 – THIS FAMILY CALLED MINE: COLOUR US UP

The room had grown quiet. The kind of quiet that felt like something sacred had just happened. Like the heavens were holding their breath.

Aunty Favour walked slowly to where we were all kneeling. She placed her hands gently on our heads, one after the other.

“The battle is not over,” she said, “but something has shifted. Can you feel it?”

I nodded, still overwhelmed.

Pamilerin whispered, “Yes, ma.”

“Now, let’s pray these last two prayer points,” Aunty Favour said, her voice low but firm…like a general issuing final commands in a war that was turning.

“Repeat after me with faith,” she said, lifting her eyes to heaven.

“Every blood cry and ancient altar demanding that my head be used as atonement… I refuse! Jesus has paid the price, let the blood of Jesus silence every blood crying against me in Jesus name!”

We roared in prayer. It was like fire in our bones.

I felt the heaviness in my chest lift.

Pamilerin fell face down, groaning as if something was leaving her body.

Setemi clutched her stomach, rocking back and forth.

Then came the final prayer.

“I am not my father! I separate myself from the bloodline curses of my father’s house. By the blood of Jesus, I am free! My children will not inherit this affliction! I will not inherit Affliction, my Inheritance is of the Lord in Jesus name!”

We screamed it again and again.

“I am not my father! I am not my father! I am not my father!”

It wasn’t just a prayer. It was a declaration. A divorce. A spiritual DNA rewrite.

Aunty Favour began to sing…

🎵 “I have a Father, Almighty Father…
He is King of kings and Lord of lords…
I have a Father…” 🎵

We joined her, our voices cracking through the tears, but rising in faith.

After several minutes, Aunty Favour knelt down with us.

“This is the beginning of your restoration,” she said. “But you must stay watchful. You must remain prayerful. And you must not go back to Egypt. No more handling cursed things. No more silence. No more passivity. You are daughters of promise.”

“Yes ma,” we echoed, still catching our breath.

Then, Aunty Favour said something that jolted my spirit.

“Now, we must destroy the paintings.”

“What?” I gasped.

Pamilerin looked up sharply. “But… Our debts…, the house… We were about to pay off so much…”

“The blood in those paintings is not just physical,” Aunty Favour said. “It’s spiritual. If you keep them, you’re preserving the evidence of your father’s sin in your home. If you sell them and use the money to build houses, train your kids , eat , it will be just like you using their blood to build houses or drinking their blood. Their blood will continue to speak…just like Abel’s blood cried out.”

A holy fear fell upon us.

She looked directly at me. “Will you obey or reason it out?”

I bowed my head. “We’ll obey.”

“Good,” she said.

“Then tomorrow morning… we burn them.”
